The old bricks around our canteen looked so drab and dingy, so I painted a piece of board with a rainbow of healthy food to brighten up the wall. (Luckily I chose to feature healthy food, because the canteen has since applied for a Healthy Canteen award, which includes an assessment of any food-related pictures on the wall!)

Inspired by a photo of fruit that I saw on a website, I painted this using acrylic paints on a large piece of marine ply. It’s coated with varnish for protection.

Why is the fruit floating in the sky? Your guess is as good as mine. But the kids really love the dangling mouse with his recipe book.
